Shelly has always had an instinct to create dynamic, rhythmic, athletic movement. Her passion for movement evolved into an early career in dance and fitness. She was drawn into the core of the classical Pilates movement like a magnet! She has trained and taught with respected second-generation Pilates disciplines throughout her 20 years of experience. 

Before barre was ‘barre’, Shelly was along for the ride launching the only licensed Lotte Berk Method barre studio. With her credentials, and without even knowing it, she was helping pioneer the start of the next movement, the barre movement.

While instructing barre classes in New York City, she learned it was her personality, drive, and compassion for fitness and her clients that carried her to where she is today. She also discovered an innate talent to develop successful fitness-fusion classes from the ground up. 

She’s created Pre & Postnatal class programs, fusion classes, Pilates Mat class programs, teacher-training programs, and is fully certified on all Pilates Apparatuses. 

Shelly is recognized as one of the first barre-choreographers at the start of the barre DVD’s distribution – co-producing ‘Arm and Ab Booster’ and ‘Thigh and Seat Booster’ for Physique 57.  She expanded the barre repertoire by adding layers of Pilates into all of her choreography and classes she taught. 

As a barre-enthusiast would say, she raised the barre! 

When Shelly married and welcomed two young children into her family, many things changed. Her creative-driven side struggled… She struggled to find a balance between home life, a time for movement, and a career. She struggled to find the physical side of herself she once knew and embraced. 

As a full-time Mom, she attended multiple fitness classes, franchised & non-franchised barre classes when and wherever she could – kids in tow many times. Yet, her expectations were never met. 

Shelly knew she was not experiencing the essence that a barre and Pilates workout was capable of doing.  

In 2016, she decided to take matters into her own hands. On her own time, in her own garage, using her own creative instincts, Shelly designed a new method using old equipment in a new way. 

She cannot wait to share it with you!
